Permanent move from Northern Ireland to the U.S.A?
I’m just turning 23 and in about a year I’m planning to save a bit of money to work/study in America and feed my appetite for extreme sports. Bit of a vague question really, but where would be a good place to move to? All I’m after is a bit of nice weather and something completely different from home.
What I’ve picked up on is that unless your proper rich, L.A and Miami are out of the question, and the likes of N.Y are far to hustle bustle for me, having lived in London put me off that kinda thing.
I’ve no formal qualifications as such yet but years of Bar work and worked two years in insurance
Also plan to have like £5000 saved ($7537 going by today’s rates) to start me off. Just a few people have been telling me it would be a huge mistake and needed some advice from someone in the know!
Canada could be considered also.
Well a bit of a consideration would actually have to be Las Vegas, Nevada. The weather can hit extremes at times but with it bieng a mid-sized city with a respectable college nearby (UNLV not exactly ivy league but respected) its good. Housing is affordable and unless I misread you, bar work is always in demand in the city. A wide range of sports are spread out through the city, and the weather definetly adds to that aspect. Finding a few connections and researching the city will definitely aid in the right spending when moneys tight.
